The LSI/IH Portsmouth Pre-Sessional courses are recognised by a number of universities and colleges across the country. This means that if you pass your Pre-Sessional with us, you will have direct entry to one of our partner institutions without taking a further IELTS test. Our partner institutions are:

City of Glasgow College is a further and higher education college in Glasgow, Scotland. It was established when Central CollegeGlasgow Metropolitan College, and the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies merged in 2010. Presently, City of Glasgow College is the largest college and technical institution in Scotland.[1]The college offers up to 2,000 professional and technical courses annually from access level to masters level. The University of Portsmouth

 

 

The University of Portsmouth has been climbing university league tables every year since 2011 and is now among the top 25 universities in the country according to The Guardian League Table. One of the reasons for this is the excellent quality of the teaching which has resulted in Portsmouth being awarded Gold in Teaching Excellence Framework. The University is also number 1 in the country for increasing graduate salaries and has an excellent Careers and Employability service, helping to make Portsmouth’s graduate employment rates amongst the highest in the country. The University is based right in the heart of Portsmouth, a historic , vibrant and student-friendly city which is right next to the sea but also has great links to London and is the 5th most affordable place to live in the UK.

ICP

 

Founded in 2009, ICP is an Associate College of the University of Portsmouth, and is part of the global Navitas Group, an internationally recognised education provider with the knowledge and resources of staff in more than 120 colleges and campuses worldwide. It offers students a modern and dynamic educational experience and provides educational pathways to over 100 University of Portsmouth degrees. Since 2009, over 2,400 ICP students have progressed to the University of Portsmouth, and in 2018, over 230 former ICP students successfully graduated from the University of Portsmouth.

The University of Chichester

 

The University of Chichester is spread between two beautiful campuses in Chichester and Bognor Regis, just a few minutes up the road from Portsmouth. The University is known for its good teaching and high levels of student satisfaction: They were awarded Silver in the Teaching Excellence Framework in 2017 and were ranked in the top 25 for student satisfaction by the Complete University Guide 2019. The University also prides itself on its caring environment which sees students as individuals and offers high level of personal support, especially for international students. This is evident from its high levels of student retention which resulted in Chichester being recognised by The Times and Sunday Times as University of the Year for Student Retention in 2014 and 2017. After a £42 million investment over the last two years, the University also offers incredible facilities including a new Tech Park, opened in 2018.

Kingston University

 

Kingston University is located in South West London in Kingston upon Thames. It is only 30 minutes from the centre of the city, is one of the safest boroughs in London, and has a great riverside location. Although its tuition fees are amongst the lowest in London, the university offers cutting-edge facilities and has a number of courses that are ranked in the top 10 in the country including Fashion, Pharmacy, Journalism and Publishing, Architecture and Sports Science. It is also ranked 2nd in the country for graduate start-up businesses. Kingston also provides a really diverse and multicultural community with over 3,000 international students.

Bangor University

 

Bangor University was founded in 1884 and has a long tradition of academic excellence and a strong focus on the student experience. Bangor University is ranked in the top 40 in the UK for research, according to the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 and has also been awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Furthermore, the most recent National Student Survey (NSS 2018) places Bangor amongst the UK’s top 10 universities for student satisfaction (excluding specialist institutions). With excellent facilities, including the band new Pontio Arts and Innovation Centre which includes teaching facilities, theatre, cafés, bar, innovation space and Students’ Union, and fantastic student accommodation, Bangor provides a wonderful environment for students. This is enhanced further by the University’s beautiful location, close to the mountains and the sea, in the lovely Welsh town of Bangor which offers a low cost of living and excellent levels of safety.

The University of South Wales

 

The University of South Wales has three main campuses in South wales in Cardiff, Newport and Pontypridd. In addition, in 2018, a campus was opened in Dubai near the Al-Maktoum International Airport. The university has a track record of employment success, with 95% of Students who graduate either being employed or in further study within 6 months of their graduation.

City of Glasgow College

 

City of Glasgow College is Scotland’s largest technical and professional skills college.
