Teacher Training Social Programme
During your language stay, we offer you access to our Professional English social Programme, as well as to our General English Social Programme.
The Professional English social programme provides opportunities for you to practise your language skills, enjoy the wonderful city of Portsmouth and network with professionals from all over the world. The optional evening activities include visits to local restaurants and pubs with fellow teachers and executive English students, where you can enhance your intercultural awareness and further improve your conversational language skills. The Professional English social programme also offers live music events, trips to the theatre and guided walking tours of Old Portsmouth.
During the weekends, our full-time General English social programme organiser arranges trips to places of historic or cultural interest which you are invited to attend. We organise trips to places such as Bath, Oxford, Salisbury & Stonehenge, London and The Isle of Wight.
You can also join in with the activities offered on the General English social programme, which include football with the teachers, salsa classes, sporting and outdoor activities and a weekly Conversation Club.
An example week:
Monday: Welcome drinks (FREE)
Tuesday: Guided tour of Old Portsmouth/ Live music event (£10 – £15)
Wednesday: Salsa Lesson (£4)
Thursday: Meal out and drinks (approx. £30-£40)
Friday: Farewell drinks (FREE)
Saturday: Excursion to London (approx. £20)
