1. Gunwharf Quays

Looking for a nice place to go shopping? Up for some bowling with your friends? Or do you just want to have a drink with your friends? In Gunwharf Quays you can find everything you need for a great day! Gunwharf Quays is known for the designer outlets in which you can find the trendiest fashion for a cheap price. Furthermore, you can either visit Vue cinema which offers the newest blockbusters for a very decent price or go to Hollywood Bowl to score a few strikes. There are also a large variety of restaurants and bars you can visit for a nice meal or a few drinks.

2. Historic Dockyard

Looking for a great experience? Then don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Historic Dockyard in Portsmouth. Not only does it contain the most celebrated battleship in the world, the HMS Victory, but it also has a huge variety of different activities and attractions.  There are museums about the history of the Royal Navy, the submarines and naval firepower which you can visit. If you’re interested in seeing everything in the Dockyard, then you can go on a harbour tour. Furthermore, you are given the possibility to be taught boatbuilding techniques in “The Dockyard Apprentice” or you can get into action in the action station which offers activities like Laser Quest or Rock Climbing.

3. The Spinnaker Tower

Be astonished with this amazing view of Portsmouth. Go up the 105 meter high tower which is located in Gunwharf Quays and enjoy the beautiful view of Portsmouth. In the top of the tower you are given the possibility to have a cup of tea or another preferred drink of yours. If you want to have an adrenaline kick, there’s also the possibility to do abseiling from the top of the tower. Preferably visit it at sunset time to get the best view possible.

4. D-Day Museum

The D-day Museum is very interesting and informative. If you’re interested in the history of England or history in general, then you ought to pay it a visit. The story of the D-Day is brought to life with the clever combination of exhibition pieces which are rounded off by stunning audio-visual presentations of personal accounts. The story is told in three parts: Preparation, D-Day and the Battle of Normandy and Legacy and the Overlord Embroidery.

5. Kings Theatre

If you’re looking for a unique experience then look no further. The Kings Theatre offers a great choice of musicals, dance shows, comedy events and more.  It is a great thing to visit if you want to escape everyday life for a few hours. There are a few bars inside the Theatre which open one hour before every performance so you can enjoy a nice little drink before entering the show.

6. South Parade Pier

The perfect thing to do on a lazy weekend is to visit the South Parade Pier. You have the possibility to go fishing with your friends and family, go shopping or just go for a walk and enjoy the view of the beautiful sea. There are many possibilities to go for a nice lunch or to join one of the many events that they offer.

7. Old Portsmouth

Old Portsmouth is full of historic buildings and therefore always worth a visit.

A place you should definitely visit is the Hotwalls Studios, which is a place that contains several studios for artists and designers. The Canteen, an eatery located in the Hotwalls Studios, provides you with seasonal and local food to enjoy.

The perfect finale of your tour through Old Portsmouth is in “The Spice Island Inn” or “The Still & West”. These are pubs which have the best views in Portsmouth.

8. Music Venues

The Pyramids Centre holds the possibility to do loads of sports and activities, but the most enjoyable thing is the live music they play on some days.

Another possibility for nice live music venues are the Wedgewood Rooms, in which you can listen to independent live music shows and comedy shows.
