The summer is when Portsmouth really comes alive. Everywhere you look there are people having BBQs on the common, people relaxing on the beach with friends and walking along the beautiful coastline into the late evening. The lighter nights and warmer temperatures make Portsmouth the perfect place to spend the summer. There are so many brilliant events and festivals which take place and offer something for everyone. The good news is Portsmouth is a relatively small city (in comparison to London, for example), so you can comfortably walk around and visit everything, without losing too much energy travelling from place to place.
