Having a Very Crafty Christmas Afternoon

Christmas Crafternoon

Here at LSI/IH Portsmouth we pride ourselves on running a varied and interesting social programme (https://lsi-portsmouth.co.uk/social-programme/). When our intern, Dana asked whether her sister, Nadya could come and host a Christmas Crafternoon in order to raise money for Mind (https://www.mind.org.uk/) we were more than happy to include it in our social calendar.

Mind is an incredible mental health charity, who believe ‘no-one should have to face a mental health problem alone’. Mind says that ‘every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem. But hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling’. Mental health is an incredibly important issue and Mind work hard to fight the stigma and provide support to those in need.

Christmas Crafternoon was set up by Mind and provides people with a chance to fundraise for the charity, all while having lots of fun making crafts! Nadya came down from London to host the event and generously provided all the crafts for our students. Thank you so much for giving us your time! Our students enjoyed making Christmas cards, Christmas tree decorations and Christmas crackers, all while enjoying some cake. Thank you to our students and staff who came along to show their support and bought some cakes/got involved! We appreciate it and we know that the money raised will go towards supporting Mind in the future.
