We know how important it is to have fun as well as learn English whilst at LSI! We therefore have a full-time Social Programme Organiser whose job is to make your time spent studying in Portsmouth as enjoyable as possible. The social programme we offer is full and varied, and includes weekly sporting events, parties and nights out, and cultural and educational activities. During your time here, you can also join the University of Portsmouth union’s clubs and societies which is a great way to make friends with British students whilst carrying on your hobbies from home.
Just some of the after school activities we offer include football twice a week with our teachers, indoor and outdoor volleyball, conversation club and afternoon tea, karaoke nights and international parties, plus visits to local restaurants and pubs. We also offer more unique social activities, such as tea-tasting afternoons and painting classes. Our social programme is always changing, and is tailored to meet the needs of all students.
Not only is our social programme really fun, it’s a wonderful way to meet new friends, practice your conversational skills and improve your English. I am dedicated to making sure that every second spend at LSI is the best it can be for you. If you have any queries about our social programme, please feel free to email me at [email protected]
If you enjoy playing football, every Monday our teachers organise a match against students after school on an astroturf football pitch and our football team has also joined the University football league. It’s great for meeting British students and to have competitive games every week. Click here for more details.
Every weekend we have a Saturday excursion, giving you the opportunity to visit other parts of the country, including:
• Isle of Wight
• Windsor Castle
